Promise of The New Year

 December 28, 2010

By  Dr. John Vilkelis

Fortunately, most of us do not feel the way Calvin does.  So, The New Year always brings promises to better ourselves.  To do things differently, make things better.  We promise to exercise more, treat our spouses & children better and to do it all the right way.

Our broken promises year after year only set ourselves up to fail again.  Don’t make New Year’s Resolutions that you can’t keep.  In you mind you know if you’re lying to yourself and so does your subconscience.  Make promises that you can keep.  Decide what promises are important enough to make the effort to stand up to.  Develop a plan to help you follow through and lay out each step you need to get to your goals.

Hope springs eternal and that is why we make New Year’s Resolutions over and over.  So the promise of The New Year is a fresh start.  This year take advantage of that fresh start and make the changes in your life you really want.

I wish you all a very Happy, Healthy and Successful New Year.
