I recently saw a report that stated one in six Americans suffers from headaches. That’s over 45 million people. I thought that is astounding.
The same study reported that people that suffer from many different types of headaches ranging from migraines to cluster to tension and a lesser known type called cervicogenic (neck generated). There are also overlaps in the types of headaches people have. 64% of migraine sufferers also report neck pain with their headaches. The same study, published in the Journal Spine found at 12 weeks of chiropractic treatment 85% showed improvement with varying degrees of improvement ranging from 25% to 100% with similar findings at 24 weeks.
Headaches have reached epidemic proportions in the United States. The cost of drugs to treat them is tremendous. The cost to businesses in terms of disability, sick days and decreased production are staggering.
Finally the cost to sufferers’ personal life in functionality, relationships and depression are too high to contemplate.
Chiropractic is a drugless solution that works for headaches. If you suffer from headaches and want to do something about it a trip to the chiropractor could make all the difference.
Please let me know what you think of this post. I would love to share your experience.
Although I have not tried going to a Chiroprctor for my headaches (not that I have that many), my wife occassionally suffers from migraines and she swears that visiting her chiropractor make her feel much better.
Great post & thanks for sharing with us.
